cross-compile libstdc++

How do i compile libstdc++ to be a library for powerpc-linux target ?
If i compile the library that comes with gcc-2.95.2 the build fails....(during the cross-compile of gcc-2.95.2)
I need a way to get the libraries for my powerpc machine.
Please....any help will be appricated
