Please see the GCC installation instructions at http://gcc.gnu.org/install/

More specifically, the part of http://gcc.gnu.org/install/configure.html
which mentions that GCC should be configured in a different directory than
the source directory.  Building in-source trees is supposed to work but
is very fragile and gets very little testing, and is not recommended.
