difficulties converting to stdc++-v3 (2.90.8)

I'm a bit confused about how you built/rebuilt g++ and libstdc++-v3. Did 
you check out the on-line documenation?

you shouldn't need to specify 

-I/usr/local/include/g++-v3

if you've built the compiler/library combo correctly.
