V3 PATCH: Turn on --enable-cstdio=stdio by default

Weird.  

I did indeed check that the write header files, etc. were being used.  (I *never* check in a patch without looking at what actually happens when I use it.)

Hmm.  On the other hand, your patch looks correct.  I suspect
user error on my part!
