weirdo problem: segfault in locale::_Impl

how are you setting up the other bits needed for your cross-compiles? (ie,
what newlibs/binutils are you using?)

interesting. I had been testing with powerpc-elf/powerpc-eabi for crosses,
but haven't in a bit. It might be a good time to make sure this stuff is
still cool..... FYI there have been a bunch of changes to the powerpc
initialization/destruction code recently, so it might be related to
changes Geoff Keating made beginning in April. (did you have this working
with compiler sources pre-april?)
