IRIX 6.5.3 Installation

compiler and linker support for irix6.5.* aside, the ctype bits for irix 
still haven't gone in. 

(same with aix 4.2, solarix 2.5.1)

When it goes in, then I'll ping the list. That might be a good time to 
try and build on irix 6.5.*
