wrong files in libstdc++.a?

Here's what I get:
$ nm -A *.o | grep _IO_link_in
fileops.o:         U __IO_link_in
genops.o:0000003c T __IO_link_in

yet even after reconfiguring with --disable-shared, fileops.o is not 
in libstdc++.a:
$ar t libstdc++.a | grep fileops
fileops.lo

Hopefully, the libtool change Alexandre listed fixes this.
