    1) not with v-3, with the 2.95 release.
    2) can't be reproduced with any release. I've tried:
    a) RH6 g++/libstdc++ (based on egcs1.1.2)
    b) egcs CVS
    c) egcs-2.95 hosted on RH6
    
    looks like an installation error. Get the sources from egcs.cygnus.com for the 2.95 release and try building it yourself. . . .
