Do a /<absolute-path>/gcc/configure iso a ../gcc/configure.

This does not help your failure here.

It will, I'll take care. But a precondition at least for x86_64 is 
darwin9*. I fail here with a ld64 problem which will most probably not 
be fixed in 10.4.9 or xcode < 3.
