Far from being patient, I'm kind of anxious about this. The
person I'm doing project work for is currently developing a
commercial Win32 application with gcj. Here:

As ironic as it is that Red Hat is indirectly funding development of a
commercial Win32 application, I shudder at the thought of Red Hat support
for gcj drying up.
