I did not try it. I need a custom build of gcj to work around the 'too many
root sets' error in boehm-gc with LARGE_CONFIG #defined in gc_privs.h.

I should give it a try though, to see if it was my build or if it's bugs in
gcj/libgcj that prevent the PyLucene unit tests from passing. (In my earlier
message I should have said 'failed to pass' instead of 'failed to run', the
python extension (a DLL) did run but with errors).

I'm not too optimistic though: so far, no gcj 4.x, on any OS I tried (*), has
passed the PyLucene unit test suite without patching. gcj 3.4.x (x >= 2)
passes all PyLucene unit tests out of the box.

Andi..

(building gcj 4.1.0 from sources on PPC Mac OS X 10.4 failed).
