I think I've figured out the problem. I'm redoing the build and have
to run now, so I'll report the result later. But I'm 87% sure the problem
is that the top-level configure in gcj-eclipse-merge-branch has been
generated with the wrong autoconf (2.59 instead of 2.13). I'll elaborate
more later.
