libgcj AIX status?

Hi.
After attempting to build gcj 4.1.1 on AIX 5.1 and
looking through all of the mailing list and internet
stuff I could find, it looks like libgcj is not yet
supported on AIX. 
 
Is this correct?  If so, what is the status on the
port? Is it being worked on right now?
 
I am trying to get management support to convert our
large base of EJB code converted to gcj but we are
chained to AIX right now.   Thanks for any help you
can give!
