The gui branch is now dead

Hi,

The need for a separate branch for gui development is not as strong as
it was six months ago and merging from the gui branch to mainline has
become more trouble than it's worth.

Graydon just merged the last changes on the gui branch to mainline and
new gui work will be committed directly to mainline.  So the gui branch
can be considered "dead", in that no new work should be done on it.
