Building GCC with native Solaris ld fails

No, even the Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6 boxes which are only Ultra-2 can do a 
complete bootstrap on mainline, given enough time (with --disable-checking).

I'll try to go to sun.com tomorrow and see if this is not a known issue.
