Compiling and running Eclipse 3

I did the same and it seems to work fine.
I even imported GNU Classpath, build it and edited some classes with it.

I was fairly impressed by the ease of compilation and speed and
smoothness of the native compiled eclipse (3.0.1 in my case).

How precisely does it fail for you?
Anything in the log files (or can you it run with -debug -consoleLog)?
