Non-Failing Miranda Testcase (was Re: Inexplicable Parameter-Passing Phenomena w/MinGW GCJ)

I'm attaching the testcase I can't get to fail in case the coding elves want
to work on this while I sleep. It started out simple, but has now gotten
overblown and grotesque, mostly because I'm trying to stumble
across the right combination by luck rather than taking the time to understand
the root cause of the problem and then creating a testcase based on
this understanding.
