Thank you for offering yourself as a candidate. The problem I
personally see with this is that even though it's nice to have
volunteers for this, if we both get hit by a truck tomorrow then
whoever continues this has two configurations to maintain instead
of one.

Nevertheless, if you can convince the list, the MinGW folks and
whoever reviews my patch that maintaining and having an additional
configuration is worthwhile, then I will add the configure switch
and test both configurations exactly once. In my judgement, you
definitely have the aptitude to test and certify this. What's more,
if anyone had a problem with this configuration, I'd simply send
them your way :).

(I've already asked the MinGW folks about the additional configuration,
but haven't gotten an answer yet.)
