I'm afraid I am not as structured as you are :).
I would like to pretend that I'm continuously scanning libjava on both linux and
windows to find issues, so that I can report them back to the team. The truth is,
unfortunately, that I just happen to run into these things by using them
(often badly).

I have given it a long thought, and I decided that I cannot agree with the conditions
listed in Sun's JRE/JDK installers. I would be infringing on their
precious copyrights, by using their stuff.
The Windows stuff itself, however, came pre-installed, in fact, against my will. And
I suspect a violation of trade regulations in my jurisdiction, that probably
would likely void most of their so-called EULA clauses. But then again, as soon as
I'm done with this now rather old laptop, I may try to bring it back to the merchant,
along with the invoice,"for a full refund":)

It's ok. There is no hurry, since the workaround will keep working until you have had
time to work your way through your list.
If you have a new version, I'll volunteer to test InetAddress.getLocalHost() and
NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces(). We could maybe avoid that these things turn
into something I would consider as unpleasant "work" instead of a fun "hobby". I hope
that nobody has been getting too serious about these things ...
