Typically you'd compile each source tree separately and use --classpath to
resolve dependencies.

?  I don't understand the question, given that Ant isn't a compiler
at all, it relies on javac or jikes or ...

gcj supports the -d option to specify a destination directory.

It should be possible.  "gcj -C" handles most of the same options as jikes
or javac.
