What about the Kaffe AWT implementation ? The licence seems the same.

It seems to be less complex than the classpath one and works out of the box on
GTK, Win32 and X... converting it to CNI should be fairly easy and it make GCJ
useful to people that are put off by the fact that the current AWT implementation
doesn't seem that portable/stable...

It is missing some bits, but those could be filled in from the current implementation.

Dunno, just an idea... I'll do some experimenting this weekend...
