Bootstrapping: ie can't run gcjh without a Java runtime, but can't build 
the runtime without gcjh. Unless we want to assume that there is already 
an existing javac/java or a working gcj, but I'm not sure we're ready to 
make that assumption yet.

Of course, when the front end gets rewritten in Java then there won't be 
a reason why gcjh can't be as well ;-)
