Serialization of empty vector over a socket (redux)

Hi,
 
Long ago I submitted a bug request
(http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java/2002-07/msg00063.html) and it looked like there
was a pretty simple solution, but from what I can tell it's still not fixed
in the 3.2.1 release...  Would the same patch
(http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java/2002-07/msg00107.html) work for 3.2.1?  Anyone
know when it could be included in the core GCJ release?
