Testsuite failure

My `make check' is failing with this weirdness:

spawn /local/aph/gcc/build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libjava/testsuite/../libtool --silent --tag=GCJ --mode=compile /local/aph/gcc/build/gcc/gcj -B/local/aph/gcc/build/gcc/ -B/local/aph/gcc/build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libjava/testsuite/../ -c -g -o /local/aph/gcc/build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libjava/testsuite/G19990217_02.o /local/aph/gcc/gcc/libjava/testsuite/libjava.compile/G19990217_02.java 
mv: `G19990217_02.o' and `/local/aph/gcc/build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libjava/testsuite/G19990217_02.o' are the same file
compiler exited with status 1
output is:
mv: `G19990217_02.o' and `/local/aph/gcc/build/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libjava/testsuite/G19990217_02.o' are the same file

Any ideas?  :-(
