Alexandre and Bryce were looking at this.  Guys, what is the status?

Irix wasn't on my personal list of targets to support for gcc 3.0.  I
don't mind disabling it.  But since Bryce and Alexandre have actually
done work on this I'd prefer to leave the decision to them.
