Problems compiling with gcj

Hi,
This should be a relatively straight forward question.
I have gcj installed (as part of gcc-2.95.2), and have
installed libgcj. Attempting to compile a trivial
program causes the following error:
[miko@mah21hpc2 src]$ gcj Test.java
Test.java:0: Can't find default package `java.lang'. Check the CLASSPATH environment variable and the access to the archives.
1 error
I'm obviously not doing something simple, so any clues
would be of tremendous help!
Thanks,
/Mike
