Keep in mind that java-discuss is not an advocacy list.

For my .02, I'll be really interested to see how MS will blend a
multithreaded GC'ed language with COM, which itself is firmly rooted in
reference counting.  That's the sort of problem that is causing the
Tcl/Java guys fits right now.
