Boehm sent me patches for the GC, and I've done some of the remaining
work (the gcc work but not the libgcj work).  Unfortunately it is on
hold for the time being.  Hopefully I'll be able to revisit it in a
week or two.  I do think this work will speed the GC, but of course I
can't know for certain until I test it.
