Missing packages

Hi,

I the last couple of days I tried to compile two MySQL JDBC drivers
and the tools available at:

  http://jakarta.apache.org and http://xml.apache.org

With gcj I was able to compile over 1400 class files which
were produced by the standard jdk javac.

The JDBC driver refused to compile because of missing
BigDecimal and java.io.Object* implementations.

The XML, XSL, JSP and servlet classes gave the following
problems:

1. The decompiled code of the three following classes
can be found at

  http://www.informatik.fernuni-hagen.de/import/pi3/joerg/gcj/decomp.txt

org/apache/xerces/validators/schema/XUtil.java: In class `org.apache.xerces.validators.schema.XUtil':
org/apache/xerces/validators/schema/XUtil.java: In method `copyInto(org.w3c.dom.Node,org.w3c.dom.Node)':
org/apache/xerces/validators/schema/XUtil.java:93: verification error at PC=356
org/apache/xerces/validators/schema/XUtil.java:93: invalid local variable type in load

org/apache/xerces/dom/DeferredDocumentImpl.java: In class `org.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredDocumentImpl':
org/apache/xerces/dom/DeferredDocumentImpl.java: In method `getNodeObject(int)':
org/apache/xerces/dom/DeferredDocumentImpl.java:771: verification error at PC=397
org/apache/xerces/dom/DeferredDocumentImpl.java:771: return value has wrong type

org/apache/tomcat/deployment/WebApplicationReader.java: In method `processServlets()':
org/apache/tomcat/deployment/WebApplicationReader.java:438: verification error at PC=186
org/apache/tomcat/deployment/WebApplicationReader.java:438: invalid local variable type in load

Can someone please comment on these issues.

2. Eight classes didn't compile due to missing java.rmi.* classes
3. Two classes wanted the java.security.Principal interface
4. Ten classes wanted the java.io.Object* classes
5. Three classes wanted the java.beans package
6. Another three classes wanted the java.sql package

The availability of these missing packages would be a huge step forward. Can
someone please give me an update of current status of the implementation
of the above mentioned java packages? Please don't tell me that there are
license problems...

Thank you,

Jörg
