I'm checking it in.

The patch isn't fully correct, however:

Removing `irix' from this list is wrong.  With your patch we still
don't support `irix' threads -- just POSIX threads on Irix.

I'm removing this part of the patch.

I might not ever be important to support Irix threads.  I have no
idea.
