Dynamic class loading

Another option is to use Kaffe.  While Kaffe doesn't yet fully support
gcj compiled classes---there is some support---its definetly on the
todo list.  www.kaffe.org  (I'm not a member of the Kaffe Core Team,
though, so I may not know of what I speak.)

Depending on your mix of static/dynamic code gcj+dynamic-code might make
more or less sense than kaffe+static-code.
