Some thoughts

I know this is probably *way* premature. But you never know, someone could
surprise with a proof-of-concept implementation already. Stranger things have
happened:
Has anyone thought about what would be needed to get an OpenJVM compliant
plug-in for netscape built based on the libgcj run-time? The idea would be to
run gcj on the classes as they were downloaded from the net.
Currently as I understand it both the AWT and dynamic loading aren't really
ready yet, so presumably any implemementation would have hacks to restart the
vm after loading classes and would have to make very little use of graphics
(which would be pretty unlikely for applets I guess).
Just when I was trying to convince myself that the "browser wars" were all
irrelevant and applets weren't the coolest thing about java, my imagination
gets swept away by the idea of dynamically loaded applets running at full
native speed. After all doesn't everyone wanna play Quake in Mozilla! :)
