Another "DEBUG" just showed up in "gcc version 4.3.0 20070716":

gcc-4_3-trunk/libjava/gnu/classpath/Configuration.h

...
  static ::java::lang::String * CLASSPATH_VERSION;
  static jboolean DEBUG;
  static const jboolean INIT_LOAD_LIBRARY = 0;
...
