>Environment:
Debian GNU/Linux potato (as of 5/21/2000) on a Pentium processor
>Description:
Building some native (C++) files in libgcj fails when
the default -O2 optimization is attempted. Specifically,
an internal error message is generated in
verify_local_live_at_start, flow.c:2671 while compiling
jni.cc, natObject.cc, natSystem.cc, and probably others.

The build succeeds when the -O2 option is removed from the
top-level makefile.
>How-To-Repeat:
Attempt to build libgcj according to the installation
instructions with the most current CVS gcc.
