 Hi,
 
 just tried the 20000417 egcs snapshot but its compilation
 stops. I don't want to fiddle around with older versions
 and patches. So I suggest to close this PR. I'll try
 periodically snapshots of libgcj and gcj in the future. 
 If I find a working combination I'll run my code. If 
 the wait/notify error persist I'll file a new PR.
