     I'm checking in a fix for this.
     Please try it out & get back to me.
     
     I just implemented JDK compatibility; I didn't try
     to have loadLibrary try both forms.  It didn't seem
     that important to try them both -- JDK compatibility
     seems better here (since loadLibrary, I think, is mostly
     used for JNI anyway).
