Okay, I've finally got my build update problems sorted out, and I've 
committed this patch.

I'm going to work on a few more JDWP-related patches, and run some 
eclipse testing. In the meantime, Kyle is pushing ahead on whatever 
outstanding stuff he has (which shouldn't be a whole lot more!). When 
I'm satisfied that we have something of beta quality, i.e., it can 
pretty much be used for (limited?) useful work, then I'll work on a NEWS 
entry which mentions this.

Again, thank you, Tom, for taking a look at this (and all my other) 
patch(es).
