Tom,

First of all, thanks for all the good work you are doing on GCJ.  It is 
invaluable to the project I am working on.

I am using GCJ in an embedded system where smaller is better (or 
sometimes even essential).  There is only so much you can put in a 16MB 
flash memory device.

Currently I am using a hacked up libgcj.so that has all of AWT and RMI 
and most javax removed from it.  Now I may be removing XML things as well.

Having said all that, I am not sure what the best solution is.

Is it possible to either:

Break libgcj into several shared objects that are loaded on demand by 
some dynamic library trickery.

Add more build time switches to turn off things like ATW, RMI, XML, etc.
