I tried to, but the obvious search terms result
in too much noise. Do you, by any chance, remember
the reason why we decided to stick with this
format? It sure looks like unnecessary verbiage to
me.

Weirdly enough, the normal location for this
document:

http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards_toc.html

is giving me a 404. Does anyone know the new
canonical location for this document? (The
online HTML version, that is.) Could this be
related to the recent cracking of the GNU
servers by misguided "h4x0rs"?
