Most likely being the "inactive" ;-) libgcj hacker with serialization
knowledge and prior maintainer of that part of libgcj, I figured
I should chime in; I fully agree with Tom.  FWIW, I like to look
over the serialization patches as they come in, so I'll respond
if I see anything interesting.  Unfortunately, my bandwidth is
limited so it may not be very timely feedback :-(.

I agree on that point too.  Someday I hope to free up some time
to return to working on libgcj, in which case I'll again be able 
to shoulder some of the load of approving patches.
