I am willing to do it the way you suggest without any complaint.  But,
for the record (and since you asked), I did it the way I did only
because I saw NetBSD use the new style (which I saw better clones the
unified port-configuration style used in gcc/config.gcc and thus keeps
highly-related information together).  Perhaps, someone better "fix"
it before too many other people start to copy it... ;-)
