Yeah, sorry, I was just getting myself confused. It does seem that if
methods like scrollpane.getHAdjustable().getVisibleAmount() are going to
work, the Adjustable object would need to be shared with the peer
somehow (either the peer would need to update fields in the Adjustable
object, or the Adjustable would have a peer of its own).

So the peer needs a reference to the Adjustable object, and will update
the state of it every time an adjustment is made?
