Right now we're cheating -- libtool has never really been ported to
work with gcj.  We should do a full port.  This might be hard.

BTW you probably can't use "basename" in your patch.  It is probably
better to use "case" to detect the match.

I think it still makes sense to check this in to our repo, with the
basename change.  I can do this if you want.
