GCC CVS question

Hi,
I had a question regarding GCC CVS and the snapshots taken. If I checkout
stuff from CVS, it gets me everything including Java,ada and what not.
I was wondering if a core GCC (like the snapshot gcc-core-*) can only be
checked out from CVS? The core GCC's compilation process is much simpler 
than taking the whole from CVS and configuring with 
"--enable-languages=C".
At least the bootstrap (xgcc) does not get messy in the gcc-core-* files.

What are the Makefiles that gcc-core-* uses which differs from CVS GCC
Makefiles? Any change in config files?
