My effort to port patches to 4.7 started OK with the first couple files
but I quickly realized I had no idea what to do with passes.c since it
is extremely changed between 4.7 and 4.8. After that, I decided to try
to build 4.8.

Build of 4.8 is almost there for arm-none-eabi. I will try to see what
it does.
