Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2013: GCC accepted as Org - call for mentors

In a nutshell:

We are gland to announce that GCC has been accepted as organization for 
Google's Summer of Code 2013 (GSoC 2013) program. (417 open-source 
projects have applied, 177 have been accepted of which 40 are new to 
GSoC.) Summer of Code is a program sponsored by Google in which students 
are paid to contribute to open-source projects; eligible are students 
(18 years old or older and enrolled [undergraduated to Ph.D.] on/before 
May 27). This will be GCC's 8th year of participation. For more

Student applications will be accepted from Monay, April 22 to Friday,

Each student will work with a mentor of the project. As we've done in 
past years, we need to have a set of mentors who are prepared to work 
with students. We would like to encourage any interested experienced GCC 
developer to become a mentor for the project. Being a mentor does not 
require that you actually work with a student: we normally have many 
more available mentors than we do students. All mentor volunteers (and 
only mentor volunteers) will be able to see and vote on all student 
project proposals.

This year I have taken over the role as GSoC organization admin for GCC 
from Diego, who did a great job in the last years. As in the past, Ian 
will be GCC's backup admin. We will accept as a mentor anybody who is 
listed as a maintainer of some part of GCC in the MAINTAINERS file. If 
you are not a maintainer but still want to be a mentor, we are open to 
being convinced.

To become a mentor, you need to go

register. If you are a returning mentor, you can use the same login as 
you did in the past. Then go to the organization page for GCC at 
http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/google/gsoc2013/gcc - and apply
