it is Next cases I'm trying to tidy up - on the way to trying to  
reduce the number of fails on darwin9 (PR35165)

However, regardless of "correctness" of the OS or otherwise - surely,  
the runtime test should be carried out for each distinct set of  
User's requested test conditions?
