GCC and OpenMP

My OpenSUSE 10.3 installed gcc 4.2.1 with OpenMP, when I ran Online 
Update.  If you want a newer gcc with an older SUSE, most likely your 
course is to build from source, or install an updated binutils and gcc 
binary from someone who has built it.
