Building & test as:

$ mkdir obj && cd obj
$ bash ../gcc-4.3-20080125/configure --prefix=/usr/local/gcc-4.3.x \
     --enable-languages=c,c++,fortran \
     --with-gmp=/usr/local --with-mpfr=/usr/local
$ gmake CFLAGS='-O2 -pipe' LIBCFLAGS='-g -O2' LIBCXXFLAGS='-g -O2
-fno-implicit-templates' bootstrap
$ sudo gmake install && gmake -k check

patch as attachment.
