GCC has some of the most extensive documentation of any open source
project.  That said, GCC is very complex.  The documentation, despite
its scope, is often difficult to understand because of the complexity
of the underlying project.

Sometimes a new person has a different perspective from that of an
expert in an area.  He may not share the history or context that the
expert has, which may reveal areas where the documentation can be
improved.
